I guess it takes a ten hour drive to finally write something worthwhile
but that’s a joke. It feels a tad menial.

Maine for a week sounds right.
Out to Lake Damariscotta for a few nights
but I’m still excited for Mark to come up to Buffalo.

I’ll spend my week on relative radio silence
in an attempted self-induced disconnected triumph
maybe Maggie will actually miss me.

A classic soul-searching quest to refocus.
A loser sitting on the shore in a yoga lotus
but I never liked sitting indian style as a kid.

So I packed my backpack with a mic, pop filter and a laptop
to offset the rustic peace.

But maybe I’ll go hiking like Ian
or sit in a kayak and fall asleep dreaming
of the exactly 937 things I can do on this trip.
